Advice & Recipes for New Mums - The Indian Way!
We wanted to share our experience and knowledge passed down by older generations in looking after your body and eating the right food after child birth.
During pregnancy your body foes through a lot of changes. You should try to eat the food listed in this book as this will help you bring your body gradually back to near normal. This food should be consumed for at least 5 weeks.
After the birth of your baby you should drink one glass of special water called UKARO. UKARO should be drank first thing in the morning for three days as it gets rid of all the blood clots left in your womb. During the day also drink water made from Vapumba (little brown flowers) & Vavidi (small round brown balls) which can be purchased from local Indian supermarket. Your tummy has expanded during pregnancy; Vapumba and Vavidi water will help bring your tummy to near normal. Pelvic floor exercises which are taught by midwife should be done daily.
There are many other tips and advice found within this book that has been proven by many many new mothers, also please understand the advice within this book is from experience and passed down from generations rather than medical (old wives tales, if you will!)
